On Windows a service shall be created that runs as the current user and always be started at log in.

At ScopeM the target computer has the target volume mounted using active directory permissions (of the logged in user?) and therefore the access is controlled sufficiently.

Use case at EMPA is unclear and needs to be understood.

Config
The config file location should be configurable?

Secrets

  • Can they be passed to the service securely?

Tasks:

  • Investigate Windows services and how it might solve ScopeM use case
  • Understand EMPA use case
  • Create Powershell script do start a service at log in
