[Feature Request] Add ability to toggle Auto-queue from background player UI #3634
Comments
You can also modify it via settings, accessible via the three-dot menu button |
Hi, any updates on this? |
Hmm. The queue UI has changed since then, but there is still space for an "autoplay next stream" button there. Edit: It would be weird to have separate repeat and autoplay next stream buttons. Maybe the repeat button could toggle between repeat one, repeat queue, autoplay next stream, and off. It's one more toggle state, that way. |
With the new player and notification UIs, it would be nice to see this action added to this menu: ... either as a separate action, or as part of the Repeat action like @opusforlife2 described above. |
Hi, any updates on this? I find that I have the need for this feature on a daily basis. Having to go into video details or settings to toggle Auto-queue is very cumbersome. |
Describe the feature you want
I'd like to be able to toggle Auto-queue straight from the background player interface. At the moment, I have to open the details view of a video and toggle Auto-queue there; there doesn't seem to be an option to do it in the background player. It would be nice if you could add a similar toggle button to the playlist view of the background player.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe it
I want to turn Auto-queue on and off directly from the background player, but there's no way to do it.
Additional context
It would be nice to have an Auto-queue toggle button somewhere on this screen:

Possibly instead of the pitch control (“100%”) on the right side, since the speed control (“1x”) already opens a dialog where you can adjust pitch.
How will you/everyone benefit from this feature?
It would make it a lot easier and more user-friendly to turn Auto-queue on/off when listening to music in the background, which is the main thing myself and everyone I know uses NewPipe for. As I mentioned earlier, you currently have to open the details view of a video (or possibly the app settings) to toggle Auto-queue , which involves several additional and, imo, unnecessary steps. I think the reasons for wanting to toggle Auto-queue when listening to music in the background are pretty obvious, but I can certainly expand on that if you'd like me to.
