Hotfix 3.1.2 improves shortcuts on macOS and some Linux configurations
Not being a macOS user myself I made a terrible mistake of assuming that using Ctrl is okay for shortcuts and key combinations. A few of you were quick to point out the problems which this brings. The proper way to handle macOS is to use Cmd instead of Ctrl pretty much everywhere. And this is what this hotfix is mainly about.
Besides changing every shortcut on macOS, this release also contains a new shortcut for creating pattern variants. The old way — hold Alt and click — is still available. But I was made aware that certain Linux desktop environments can intercept this specific combination of inputs, making it impossible to use this feature in Bosca Ceoil Blue. So as an alternative you can now hover over a pattern in the arrangement and press Ctrl/Cmd + D, turning it into a copy of itself.
On another note, Linux users with older distributions will be able to run Bosca Ceoil Blue without issues. Anything released around 2022, or newer, should be compatible now!
There are also a few small bugfixes, namely slightly better compliance with the MIDI spec in imports. But otherwise, it should be the same true and trusted Bosca Ceoil experience that you know and love!
This project is free for everyone to use. But it still takes time and effort to maintain and develop free and open tools. Please consider supporting the project financially by donating via Patreon, or by leaving a tip with your download on itch.io!
