The only problem is cec-client and the supporting library libCEC has not been stable of late? Moreover, direct kernel support for CEC is emerging right? For example, on Pi OS 11 the cec-client is really unstable right now. All documented and know issue, but there seems to be no action on the issue(s) applicable. I have started trying to use native kernel CEC support, but it too is proving to have some issues, at least on Pi OS 11.
