Filebeat is able to detect if a file has been removed, renamed, etc. However, such events are only logged on a debug level. The enhancement would be to report the events to the user via an interface (e.g. Kibana).

Reporting this information requires a bit more investigation to see the performance and memory impact it might have on Filebeat if it has to count for many harvesters.
