[Feature] Force viewtype IDs #433
Comments
+1 on this for use with Embuary, and Arctic Zephyr Reloaded. |
I would also very much appreciate an option to be able to set a default view for Movies/TV Shows (something similar to the custom view options that Seren & Elementum have whereby you can specify the relevant number for the preferred default view). Thanks very much for the addon BTW! |
Since issue #543 has been closed I will repost my comments here for continuity: Yes, I think this would be a useful feature to add control of Views to TMDBH. Kodi itself doesn't seem to handle the Views of addons that use online databases very well, especially ones with so many layers of directories like TMDBH. It seems necessary to set the View for every single directory in TMDBH, not just what media type the directory displays, ie: Movies, TV Shows, or Episodes. And then when going to the next page in that directory the View is forgotten and needs to be set again - and some directories have 10 or 20 or more pages... Even with something like Trakt In Progress TV Shows, if a new TV Show enters the list, it's necessary to set the View when clicking through to the Episodes of that new Show before it is remembered and saved. And with multiple Kodi installations throughout the house it's all somewhat frustrating to keep the View setup correct. Worse still is going into TMDBH itself and browsing - every single directory needs it's View to be set manually - and there are A LOT of directories. I didn't count them all but there must be at least 50, plus whatever personal lists from Trakt, etc. Multiplying the number of directories, by multiple pages in each directory, and by multiple Kodi installations at home, and it's literally hundreds if not thousands of pages that each need their View to be manually... Additonally, depending on the addon, the skin, etc, there sometimes seems to be some conflict regarding what the actual Media type is, and therefore what View should be set. For example, there are some addons that allow View types to be set, and this seems to function across Kodi, not just in that particular addon. But in this case TMDBH > Trakt In Progress TV Shows list seems to be detected as an Episode list, not a TV Show list, thereby applying the incorrect View type. So it would be a really nice convenience if this feature could be incorporated correctly into TMDBH itself please. THANKS for considering it :) |
@jurialmunkey Is there any progress in adding this feature? |
I would also LOVE this feature. To be able to set viewtypes in TMDBHelper independent of the skin would be incredibly helpful. |
I would honestly love this feature as well cause it gives me customization for other skins that don't offer locking your favorite viewtype. |
Unsure if this is the place to post a request, but I’ve recently migrated from openinfo/meta over to tmdbhelper and would love to see the ability to lock view types onto wall or poster for searched titles. Not as big a deal for Kodi 18.x, but since the few skins that are available for Matrix 19 don’t include options to lock down view types from within the skin (instead of defaulting back to list view on page 2), would be a nice touch to have that control from the addon itself.
Thanks.
