Using a small regular buffer instead of a minibuffer for gptel-rewrite

Hi, I'm wondering if this is possible. I would like to be able to write longer rewrite instructions and use Evil keybindings if possible. Thanks for the useful package by the way.

Are these task-specific instructions or general instructions that apply at a broader level, like a project or a major mode?

I ask because there are two pieces to the rewrite instruction:

Duplicate buffer issue: If I set transient-show-during-minibuffer-read to t (and possible change the value of transient-display-buffer-action to the default value or that suggested in magit/transient#358; I am not sure if changing it is necessary), then I do not get the duplicate buffer. However, if I leave transient-show-during-minibuffer-read as nil, then I do get the duplicate buffer after C-c C-e.

Rewrite f option not appearing: Regardless of the settings mentioned above, this seems to occur when the rewrite visual selection is a single line. If it is multiple lines long, then the option is still there.

Duplicate buffer issue: Your explanation is not clear. As I understand it, the issue is that transient-display-buffer-action needs to have those extra specifications (inhibit-same-window and dedicated window parameters). This should be the ONLY thing that matters. If this is the case then there is no duplicate buffer bug. Please confirm.

Rewrite f not appearing: There is no f option, I'm assuming you mean rewrite r. I cannot reproduce this, so I'm not sure what's causing this yet.

Duplicate buffer issue: What I said is exactly what I am experiencing. If transient-show-during-minibuffer-read is nil (the default value, and verified with describe-variable), then seemingly regardless of the value of transient-display-buffer-action, I get an extra buffer. I've verified this with transient-display-buffer-action values of:

and

there is now a duplicate buffer that appears after accepting the editing message with C-c C-c.

Is this the only situation in which the extra window appears, or does it also appear when you change the model with -m, as in #583?

That is not the only situation. If transient-show-during-minibuffer-read is nil, then I still get an extra buffer with -m in gptel-menu.
