<h1 class="ad" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Welcome to Irvine</h1>
<p class="aboutp" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">
A lively city known for its focus on higher education
</p>
<p class="aboutp" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">
Irvine has transformed over the century from sprawling, wide-open ranchland to a prosperous, diverse city that is
home to one of California’s best public universities. The population of Irvine is around 273,000 people. Its
proximity to Los Angeles and the natural beauty of the Pacific coastline make Irvine a popular destination for
Southern Californians.
<br />
<br />
In the 19th century, James Irvine bought 110,000 acres of land that he used to create the Irvine Cattle Ranch.
Over the years, the ranchland became an orchard for olives and the citrus trees that Orange County is known for.
<br />
<br />
In 1959, the sleepy, agricultural town of Irvine and Irvine Ranch underwent a significant transformation when the
University of California purchased land to build a campus there. In the decades since, Irvine has grown from a
sleepy college town of around 50,000 to a lively, small city with plenty of opportunities, educational or
otherwise.
<br />
<br />
Irvine is unique because it was planned to consist of smaller “villages” — neighborhoods throughout the city with
their own distinct style, culture, and walkability. Some sought-after neighborhoods in the area are Orchard Hills,
Eastwood, Stonegate, Altair, Great Park, Turtle Rock.
<br />
<br />
Since the city’s layout was carefully planned in the 1950s and ‘60s, neighborhoods are varied and walkable. The
architectural style in Irvine varies but boasts a large amount of midcentury California Modern style homes and
Mediterranean-style homes.
The median home price in Irvine is $861,600.

<h1>People & Lifestyle</h1>
<p>Irvine is an intellectual paradise — it’s home to the University of California at Irvine, Concordia
University, Irvine Valley College, and satellite campuses for Pepperdine University and Stanbridge University.
Because of this, there are a lot of students in the area. Irvine was even named the second-best college town
in America by Livability, which is no small feat!
<br />
<br />
Irvine is also home to over 17,000 businesses — including one-third of all Fortune 500 companies. There is a
lot of economic and employment opportunity in Irvine, which makes it popular with professionals.
<br />
<br />
Irvine is also a very family-friendly place to live — it is a quieter alternative to nearby Los Angeles, with
good employment opportunities, excellent schools, and parks to discover. Additionally, Irvine is one of the
greenest cities in America and is a very environmentally conscious community.

<h1>Dining, Shopping, & Entertainment</h1>
<p>IIrvine’s diverse population shines through in its dining scene — there’s a variety of different cuisines to
try and sure to be something to suit your palate. Tim Ho Wan is a Michelin-starred Dim Sum restaurant with
locations all over the world.
<br />
<br />
For a more casual taste of Asian cuisine, HiroNori Craft Ramen has you covered with its range of traditional
ramen dishes. For an exciting blend of two cultures that have helped shape Southern California — East Asian
and Mexican — head to Urban Seoul, an Asian and Mexican restaurant. If you’re in the mood for tacos, Puesto is
a family-owned restaurant with authentic recipes and ingredients.
<br />
<br />
Eats Kitchen and Bar, located in the Hotel Irvine, and Houston’s Restaurant offers upscale American dining.
For similar American cuisine that will fill your heart as well as your appetite, go to Andrei’s. The
restaurant is named after Andrei Olenicoff, a young food-lover diagnosed with an eye disease called Retinitis
Pigmentosa. In his memory, the Olenicoff family opened up Andrei’s, where 100% of profits go towards finding a
cure for degenerative retinal diseases. They are also known for their specialty cocktails.
<br />
<br />
For some sweets, 85° C is a popular bakery that got its start in Irvine and sells bread, cakes, and an array
of coffees and teas.
<br />
<br />
Honey & Butter Macarons is a whimsical bakery with an array of unique macaron flavors — including Rose Milk
Tea, Butterbeer, Oreo, and Enchanted Berry. They also offer Creature macarons that vary by the day — macarons
decorated like film and tv characters, video game characters, and animals.
<br />
<br />
The Irvine Spectrum Center is a bustling shopping center in Irvine. With dozens of stores, including high-end
brands and affordable retailers, the Spectrum Center is the perfect destination for shopaholics. It even has a

<h1>Things to Do</h1>
<p>Irvine is brimming with local activities and events that make it easy to enjoy this community’s exemplary
climate. Tanaka Farms is a working farm that has “U-Pick” activities, where visitors can explore the fields
and pick their own produce. Tanaka Farms has been family-owned for generations and is a beloved relic of
Orange County’s agricultural past. It also features produce stands and educational activities for kids where
they can learn how plants grow from seeds. And when fall rolls around, Tanaka Farms had a pumpkin patch where
visitors can choose their own pumpkins.
<br />
<br />
For something that will get your adrenaline rushing, spend the day at K1 Speed Irvine, a racing facility with
two professionally designed indoor go-kart tracks. For those who are just there to root for the winner and
don’t want to race the track themselves, K1 Speed has a collection of racing art and memorabilia, comfortable
seating areas complete with couches and plasma- screen televisions, and the Paddock Lounge, which serves
burgers, pizza, and all kinds of drinks.
<br />
<br />
Irvine is also full of green areas to explore, with around 60,000 acres of public parks that residents can
enjoy. They’re perfect for parties, picnics, jogs, and just enjoying the temperate West Coast weather.
<br />
<br />
The Irvine Improv Comedy Club features both big names and up-and-coming comedians and has a full dinner and
drinks menu
