Depending on the packages used, a caption may be typeset more than once. If the first, centered, version ends up with one or more line breaks, it is typeset again, without the centering. The \skelcaption command deals with this, but if the normal \caption command is used, any skeleton elements in the caption will have their notes duplicated.
