This needs further discussion, just creating issue as a placeholder so it doesn't get neglected.

WIth the recent work done to make some of the Gaps UI work nicely on Mobile phone, we're just using the device screen size as a proxy for what is shown (and how) to the user.

We probably also want to add a store preference to indicate a store is "GAPS only", but need to clarify what exactly that preference is and what it restricts.

I think fair to have 'GAPS only' to hide stock management stuff, but I don't think we should conflate that with the phone view?

E.g. some users might use both phones and laptops at the same store

Yes, exactly, that's what this issue is for. We currently determine access AND display via the device screen size, so adding a preference will allow us to discriminate between the two. :)

Depending on how you want to look at positive / negative and how we envision the ecosystem evolving, perhaps there should be multiple positive preferences rather than a single negative one?

E.g.

  • Uses stock management - shows menu items like Distribution, Replenishment etc
  • Uses CCEI / GAPS - shows the cold chain menu
