isSupported returning false, no error #146

Testing on an 9.7in iPad pro that had touch id activated at one point but was then deactivated(all fingerprints removed) is returning false for the isSupported method. Expecting it to throw an error if there are no supported methods. Please advise if I am incorrect in my assumptions.
