Is there any guidelines for supported TFMs?

Hello, as one of the few non-Simon plugin owners, I wondered if there was any guidance for what TFMs we support and when.

I was updating Verify.Nupkg to the latest version, and in 28.. it looks like we take a transitive dependency on some 9.0.0 versions of packages that warn they aren't supported downlevel.

System.CodeDom 9.0.2 doesn't support net7.0 and has not been tested with it. Consider upgrading your TargetFramework to net8.0 or later. You may also set <SuppressTfmSupportBuildWarnings>true</SuppressTfmSupportBuildWarnings> in the project file to ignore this warning and attempt to run in this unsupported configuration at your own risk.

Given that 6 and 7 are out of support, should Verify drop support as well? If not, what about plugin authors? Do you have any strong feelings about a plugin that only supports a subset of the TFMs Verify itself does?

sigh. yes those lib do work for the feature set needs in earlier TFMs. and that message is annoying

Given that 6 and 7 are out of support, should Verify drop support as well

that will be happening soon.

If not, what about plugin authors? Do you have any strong feelings about a plugin that only supports a subset of the TFMs Verify itself does?

extensions to Verify have no requiremnt to taregt all the same TFMs as Verify. So feel free to drop anything u dont want to support
