Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm always frustrated when opening the Memories app because it defaults to the "Timeline" view, while I prefer to start with the "Folders" view. This requires me to manually switch views every time I open the app, which is time-consuming and disrupts my workflow.

Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like the ability to set a default view for the Memories app. Ideally, this would be a user-configurable setting where each user can choose their preferred default view (e.g., Timeline, Albums, Folders) from the available options. This setting could be added to the app's configuration or user preferences section.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • Using the External Sites app to create a deep link to the Folders view, but this results in either double headers or opening in a new tab.
  • Bookmarking the Folders view URL, but this is not a system-wide solution and doesn't work across devices.
  • Modifying the app's source code, which is not sustainable due to update issues.

Additional context
This feature would significantly improve the user experience for those who frequently use specific views within the Memories app. It aligns with Nextcloud's philosophy of providing customizable and user-friendly interfaces. Similar functionality exists in other Nextcloud apps, where users can set default views or behaviors.
