I discovered that using the scale property breaks the whole effects in Safari Mobile

Update:
I tried to upgrade the plugin to the latest development varsion and it broke all the effects (you should check this out).
Then I only applied this commit, 28aa6aa, which seemed to address the issue.
The good news is that not only it made the plugin work again, but it also fixed the scaling issue in Safari Mobile.

Can't figure which version facens did apply the patch to, but I confirm the issue.
No animated transitions in current trunk version.
