The different parameters that might reflect different types of reviews include:

  • Blocks vs links, e.g. linking pages is more likely to be a study "Review", whereas linking a block is more likely to be "Tasks" to be done.
  • Folders. Different note types will live in different folders and may therefore also benefit from a logical separation on the Daily Note, e.g. a Read header for links from a Reading List folder, a Revise header for links from a Study Notes folder, a To Do header for links from a Tasks folder, a Contact header for links from a CRM folder, etc.
  • Tags. For block references, the existence of a tag in a block might be another helpful modifier. For example, automatically sorting tasks into priority on the Daily Note according to tags like #high, #medium, #low

I envision this being configurable in the settings like follows:

  • Click "Create new rule" to create a new set of parameters and a corresponding header
  • Configure rule parameters: "Reference is [Page OR Block / Page Only / Block Only] in [Any Folder / Folder Single-select Dropdown] containing [Any Tag / Tag Multi-select Dropdown]
  • Specify header
