Fediverse to Bluesky bridging not working

For at least a few days now, I have noticed my bridged fediverse posts are not appearing on my bluesky feed. It was working fine at one point. Are there any known issues, or any troubleshooting I can do?

D'oh. Yes it was on that list, but I had "hide account in logged out view" ticked, I thought I had had that all the time, even since before bridging, but I turned it off and sure enough bridging works. What was getting me was I could see my bridged mastodon profile by going direct to it, but just wasn't getting the posts on my feed. It was working fine the other direction. Anyway all sorted now thanks for prompt response and suggestion and sorry to waste your time

Can we reopen this, I just looked over the list and all of them are

I've just followed from 2 fediverse accounts, and for the first, no DM was sent but the mastodon account ended up in the bsky Followed accounts.

No DMs, Mentions or otherwise for the second account. And no blocked accounts from bsky side.

@mediaformat hmm, I was able to follow that Bluesky account from my fediverse account just now: https://bsky.app/profile/mediaformat.bsky.social/followers . Did you search for @[email protected] in Mastodon and follow it, eg https://fed.brid.gy/docs#fediverse-follow-bluesky ? Or did you just DM the bot?

I DM'd the bot from mastodon after following the bot there.

I had no DMs on Bluesky, until I later (half day) decided to follow the ap bot from the bs side. After this the DM came through.

Back on mastodon, I received no message that the account was now bridged.

So I guess there are 2 issues:

• Do bluesky users normally need to follow the bot, in order to be bridged?
• should Fediverse users be informed when the bluesky bridge is successful?

Ideally yes. We haven't implemented this yet, PRs are welcome! #1321
