We have templates and supporting LaTeX files in subdirectories, which is no problem with a standard LaTeX installation, because of the TEXINPUTS environment variable. Just set it to “.//“ and all subdirectories recursively are included in the search path.
I can’t use that shorthand with the “-Z search-path=“ option for Tectonic, as “.//“ does not work. I would have to give the actual directory (e.g. “./templates”) as a parameter for it to work. As there are many different directories, depending on project, this would mean constantly changing the option to include all specific subdirectories.
It would be great, if Tectonic supports at least the “.//“ notation for the “-Z search-path” option.
