The Open MPI wrapper compiler was unable to find the specified compiler
/home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin/g++-5 in your PATH.

but the depends_on :mpi => :cxx pulls in open-mpi doesn't pull in gcc for some reason as I would expect for the depends_on :fortran => :recommended requirement of open-mpi, which is why I presume mpicc was built using gcc-5.
