  • Missing behaviours

  • Contains bad practice behaviours that should be removed

  • isScrollable seems like a bad practice

Accessibility

  • Meets wcag 2.0 standards

  • Meets wcag 2.1 standards

  • Allows for font scaling

  • Accessibility contingent on removing the text prop.

Deprecation

  • Component is a bad pattern and should be deprecated.

  • The loading overlay component is quite valuable bu much easier consumed from terra-application and should be moved there.

  • The basic overlay should be included in the structural components that require the overlay and this component provides minimal value as a stand alone component for consumers. If consumers feel they need an overlay beyond the loading overlay it may indicate a missing framework capability.

Related Issues

Migrate loading overlay to terra-application.
Move terra-core issue to terra-application to create new loading overlay styles.

Loading indicator does not have Enterprise solid line styling.
Does not allow for a card in the background when loading a modal.
Does not allow for loading within a dialog?

These are universal features that should be part of the loading indicator element. They are also design standard adherence changes that need to be investigated and planned.
