Playing on an Xbox via streaming
You can stream your Xbox games over your local network to your PC, to allow you to play your favourite games with OKGO.
These are rough notes from when I set it up for myself, I need to do some testing to work out the exact details.
You need to turn on "game streaming" in the Xbox settings. On the Xbox One it should look like this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/turn-on-game-streaming-on-your-xbox-one-console-a5bfbc6f-aabf-2728-7c0e-ad4f619c21b9 but I think on mine the setting names weren't exactly the same.
I also turned on Power-mode = Instant on which lets your PC wake up your Xbox. It was in the settings somewhere, maybe something like Devices and Connections -> Remote Features. It probably isn't essential but would be helpful.
- Install "Xbox Console Companion" from the Windows Store.
- Go to "Connection" tab (see icon near bottom of screenshot → )
- You should see your Xbox listed (assuming it's switched on), select it and click "Stream"
You may need to be a bit careful with the order in which you launch the game and OK Game On so the controller gets picked up correctly. I don't remember the details, you'll have to experiment! Generally it worked quite easily, but there was one time I couldn't get it to pick up the virtual controller and had to restart OK Game On and/or Xbox Console Companion. I notice in the FAQs below they talk about controller connections being a bit buggy sometimes.
