How to exclude subfolder from project?

Hi, I have a two projects created:

• One with Folder data source (my entire vault)
• Another with a Tag data source

I would like to know if it is possible to exclude notes within an entire folder/sub-folder from the either project's "scope". I have seen there is the option to use "Excluded notes" in the "Edit project" menu. However, this doesn't seem to allow paths to folders.

Hi @cspipaon ! Unfortunately, it does not look like Projects can exclude folders or sub-folders from the Projects Settings menu as of this writing.

However, we can use a filter on a project to get a similar result. Please try the following steps:

1. Open your project in the View that you would like to create the filter in (Table, Board, Calendar, or Gallery View)
2. Select the Filter button near the top right corner
3. Choose + Add Condition in the popup menu
4. In the first field of the Where condition, select path
5. In the second field of the Where condition, select does not contain
6. In the empty field, type in the folder/sub-folder name you would like to exclude from your project
7. Select outside of the field to apply the filter

That's unfortunate, as it is not possible to have both "and" and "or" filters together right? I am already making use of "or" filters to quickly filter based on a property's value so I can't exclude the folder and use "or" filters at the same time, doing something like:

Where path does not contain /folder and
(Where property is 1
or property is 2
or property is 3)

That is correct. As of this writing, it is not possible to have both "and" and "or" filters together. You are right, the example you provided will not be able to run in Projects as of now.

However, it does look like this feature is in development and will hopefully be released in the near future. You may find the issue here: #279
