This PR adds a (description and) fix to known issues reported by many users in one form or another. I have tested this personally in 0.12 and 0.16 with M1 Mac OS Monterey (12.6.1).

@azanbinzahid are you referring to changing it in the underlying plist helps or "simply" changing it to a integer value in the preferences pane is enough? We should probably look to address the fix in code rather than relying on users to change a plist. Do you have any repro for how you were able to work this out as the cause and what issues it fixes (if any are filed) |

Hi @davidrothera, I mainly tested this from UI on my machine. But I believe it has to do with this line. |
