Current signed-out time limit (one day?) is too short in my opinion.

Increasing this time will reduce a barrier to app usage.

Maybe, also allow user or project to set time that a user is signed in.

This is a great idea. If I knew how to change this, I would. The login session length is somewhat of a mystery to me as we have changed the "settings" to be long like 1 year, yet there are frequent logouts for reasons that I don't understand. If I could make this change, I would change it to one year or never, just like FB :)

Thanks for sharing about the status of this issue. Sounds like something that requires some research.

Once this is addressed, we should consider the behavior of search options. See #1229. We may want search options to auto-clear after a certain amount of time, like an hour or a day. Currently, they are cleared upon logout.

Closing this issue because earlier efforts to extend the login time weren't successful and I don't know how to fix the issue.
